The Department was established the inception of the college. Since then it has been striving to make English affordable and accessible to all sections of the students. Today English language is spoken or read by the large number of people in the world for many reasons. The main vision of the Department is to involve the students of this institution in the process of learning the English language so as to enable them to enter into the mainstream of the society.
Besides dealing with the university curriculum, enough attention has been given to motivate the students in order to help them to inculcate the skills of reading, writing and communicating in English. The activities like Resume Writing, Letter of Application, Class Room Seminars, Group Discussions, How to read and critically appreciate the poem, a novel and a drama etc, Workshops ‘On Communicative English’ Vocabulary enrichment exercises are conducted to serve the purpose of the Departments vision.
